Applying for an Overseas grant

THE OVERSEAS GRANTS PROGRAMME FOR 2018 IS NOW CLOSED.

If you have already submitted an application, you will be notified by 1 July whether your application has progressed to the final stage for consideration.  If your application is successful in reaching that final stage, we will then notify all applicants by 30 September to advise whether your application is successful or not.

The Overseas Grants Programme for 2019 will open in January 2019.

We fund overseas work in all continents which seek to enable people to address the basic needs of their communities.

Our total overseas grant budget for 2018 is £75,000. All applications must come from UK registered charities.

What we fund

We are looking for projects which show some or all of the following:

  • Clear objectives and outcomes which can be measured and evaluated within a reasonable timescale, and show a good impact to the end beneficiaries
  • Cost effective and proven solution models to sustainable outcomes
  • A measurable impact to projects using a grant of between £2,000 - £10,000
  • Can be used for a project that might require the funding from October 2018

What we don't fund

We do have limited funds and this means we have to lay down strict criteria for giving. We are sorry if your project doesn’t fit our criteria but we are unable to do it all!

  • Disaster relief or emergency work (from this fund, although staff have generously supported recent Appeals)
  • Proposals which show any racial, political or religious bias
  • Individuals
  • Expeditions or study exchanges
  • Medical research Fundraising events or Appeals
