Payroll Giving Awards Ceremony 2010

Zurich a winner at National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards

Zurich had good cause to celebrate at the National Payroll Giving Excellence Awards on Monday 1 November 2010, walking away as an award winner for the Best Large Employer Campaign.

Zurich and Zurich Community Trust are delighted to have won this coveted award, presented by (above from left) Nick Hurd, Minister for Civil Society to Ann Fisher (Zurich HR Payroll and Benefits) and Wendy Martin (Zurich Cares UK Fundraising Manager)

The award was for a large employer (with more than 250) employees that has carried out a well-constructed and thought out Give As You Earn (GAYE) promotion with measurable results in 2009.

Fighting off stiff competition from other finalists - Aviva, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks and 'Highly Commended' Thinkmoney - the judges felt that Zurich's nomination was impressive with objectives that recognised Zurich's challenges.

The panel highlighted the fact that Zurich Community Trust had listened to employees and adopted a common sense approach.  The campaign's 'click to give' emails were praised for being innovative, the 'drip drip' communication strategy was well thought out, and the results demonstrated that this was their most successful campaign yet.

Zurich was also commended for the low cost of the campaign, the excellent use of stakeholders and the pound for pound matched contribution provided through the Zurich Community Trust.  The company's community involvement programme is delivered by Zurich Community Trust, a registered charity funded from the Zurich UK businesses anddonations from our staff and advisors.
