IE5: hold the ALT key and press the letter of the accesskey, then press RETURN
IE 4: hold the ALT key and press the letter of the accesskey
IE 5+ for Mac: hold the CTRL key and press the letter of the accesskey
IE 4.5 for Mac:  accesskeys are not supported
Netscape: accesskeys are not supported
Lynx: accesskeys are not supported

IE:
From the View / Tools menu, click Text Size and select larger or smaller

Netscape:
From the View menu, click Increase Font or Decrease Font

Changing text and background colours

IE:

  • From the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
  • On the General tab, click Colors
  • In this panel you can set the text and background colour. Click OK to save changes and exit

Netscape:

  • From the Edit menu, click Preferences
  • Click on Appearance
  • Click on Colors
  • In this panel you can set the text and background colour. Click OK to save changes and exit

Overriding text and font styles

Use these settings to make your browser ignore fonts and styles set on a web page

IE:

  • From the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
  • On the General tab, click Accessibility
  • The Formatting options allow fonts and styles to be overriden


Netscape:

  • From the Edit menu, click Preferences
  • Click on Appearance
  • Click on Fonts
  • Select the 'Use my default fonts...' option to override fonts
  • Click on Colors
  • Select the 'Always use my colors...' option to override colours

Other settings are available to tailor your web pages such as turning off picture display and changing fonts

IE:

  • From the View / Tools menu, click Internet Options
  • Click the Advanced tab
  • Choose options from the list available


Netscape:

  • From the Edit menu, click Preferences
  • Click on Appearance
  • Use options here to turn off pictures or to change font
  • Click on Advanced
  • Use options here to control scripting and style sheets
