Public benefits
- Drug and alcohol misuse charity partner, Addaction, helped 250 vulnerable families affected by substance misuse. Through the family worker, 88% of them showed a reduction in substance misuse and reduced harmful behaviours.
- The Place2Be were able to help 5,700 troubled young children through a school counselling service in Croydon and Greenwich.
- Over 500 isolated older people have been supported/befriended by over 200 volunteers through a telephone support service run by Age UK.
- Since 1994, 84 Zurich employees have supported seven NGOs in southern India, helping to build capacity and sharing their skills on our Assignee programme.
- As part of our Young People's Mental Health programme we've created a coalition of leading children's mental health charities to improve the health and well being of young people across the UK.
- We're supporting The Prince's Trust by introducing a wellbeing initiative to their Team personal development programme for young people. This new approach provides placement opportunities for social work students as well as mental health training.
- Zurich employees complete around 200 Challenges each year for a broad range of voluntary organisations based across the UK through our Challenge programme.
- Matched fundraising from Challenge teams raises around £85,000 to carry out the Challenge work, which would have cost an estimated £200,000 in man hours if voluntary organisations had had to pay for them.
- We also give charities access to Zurich staff's time and business skills. Around 100 employee volunteers share their business skills with charities through our Skillshare programme.
