Local grants
We have local grants programmes in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire and several other locations where we have large offices.
Grants range from £100 - £5,000 (depending on location) and support disadvantaged people to live a more independent lifestyle. We have funded carers, special needs children, people with disabilities, counselling, homeless people, teenage pregnancy, ethnic minorities and many more.
Our grants are sometimes spent on core costs such as salaries, premises, transport and food costs, whilst we also fund a number of one-off purchases e.g. IT equipment, training, access and equipment for people with disabilities.
How we assess grant applications
Local Grant Giving Committees are made up of staff volunteers, and supported by the Community Trust team. Grants are assessed using a consistent process involving analysis of applications, discussions and/or visits to the applicants and a committee discussion to reach a consensus.
