Zurich support NSPCC in Swindon
SWINDON - 23 April 2008
This year the NSPCC will have been raising funds in Swindon for 110 years and as part of their drive to raise awareness, last week the charity ran two information sessions hosted by Zurich for their staff who will be supporting the charity this year.
Fourteen members of staff gave up their lunch breaks to attend the sessions which were also attended by Zurich Community Trust's volunteer development manager, Tony Martin; the NSPCC's Swindon branch chairman, Sue Hooper and Jeanette Chipping, the team manager of one of the NSPCC's local projects.
The NSPCC runs two centres in Swindon - their North Swindon Family Centre based in Penhill which provides support for children and families and the Swindon Centre working with children and families to help them recover from the impact of abuse and domestic violence. The NSPCC relies on fundraising and donations for 85 per cent of its income so the support of local people is vital to them being able to continue to support local children and young people.
advertisementTony Martin said: "We're pleased to support the NSPCC in this special year in Swindon. 110 years of commitment is a milestone in any organisation's history."
