About us
Zurich is committed to be good corporate citizens, and in doing so to encourage and support its employees to do their part to make a better world.
Zurich's Community Trust in the UK works to support a range of local, national and overseas charities, many selected by Zurich employees.
We work in partnership with 28 voluntary organisations plus give money, time and expertise to over 700 others each year.
Over £56 million has been donated to a variety of good causes since 1972.
Why do we get involved?
Corporate community involvement has wide-ranging benefits. It:
- makes a lasting difference to our communities
- gives our people opportunities for personal development
- encourages people to work as a team
- boosts employee morale
- enhances our business reputation.
We are, however, motivated mainly by a belief that companies should be active, participating members of society, adding value which is not just commercially focused.
Our mission
Chris Gillies
"We give money, skills and time donated from Zurich together with money and time leveraged from employees of Zurich to help disadvantaged people achieve an independent future for themselves."
Chris adds "The Trust's primary focus is in disadvantaged local and overseas communities, on issues that are often overlooked and in areas where we can have the biggest impact.
We make a difference by:
- Leveraging our financial contribution with the time and skills of Zurich people
- Put an emphasis on long-term sustained results
- Working in partnership with the voluntary sector
- Being innovative
- Measuring and evaluating the difference we're making"
