Investment options

As a member of the Royal Mail Defined Contribution Plan (the Plan) you can decide how the retirement savings in your Member Account are invested. There are two investment strategies to choose between; the Do It Yourself option or the Lifecycle option.

The Investment Guide is designed to help you understand the investment options available to you under the Plan and provide information on the eight funds available for you to choose from, if you opt for the Do It Yourself option. You should read the Investment Guide before making any investment decision.

Zurich Assurance Ltd provide the Plan administration services and make funds available to members. However, Zurich Assurance Ltd is not the fund manager and is not responsible for investing the contributions made or the underlying fund management. Instead they delegate this responsibility to a number of specialist fund managers as listed in the Investment Guide.

You can change the investment funds you’ve chosen at any time

You can change the investment funds you’ve chosen at any time by completing a Choices Form or calling the Zurich Royal Mail Service Team. There are currently no fees or penalties for doing this.

Please note that your investment decisions are important. The value of your investments may fall, as well as rise. Your contributions will be used to buy Units in your chosen Investment Fund(s). When those Investment Fund(s) grow or decrease in value, so will the Units. This will affect the pension benefits that you can buy in the future. No one can accurately predict how investments will perform, and the benefits that you will receive when you are ready to retire are not guaranteed.
