Zurich has had a significant, and in some cases market leading, presence in these segments for a number of years, particularly those with close ties to more traditional public service providers.
Blue Light Emergency Services
Our “Blue Light” segment is one of the more traditional markets. Police Authorities, Fire and Rescue Services and the NHS have very distinctive insurance and risk management requirements which Zurich meets and exceeds through continually improving and developing new propositions.
Health Authorities
The Health Authorities market has undergone several changes in recent years and Zurich has been working on developing an offering which not only meets the markets’ insurance and risk needs, but also their purchasing arrangements.
Zurich Infrastructure
Zurich Infrastructure Unit, previously known as Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) or Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) incorporates a public service which is funded and operated through a partnership of government and private sector organisations. Zurich has been leading the market in this segment since 2001 and provides the following insurance and risk management solutions.

- Delay in start up for the construction phase
- Public Liability for the construction phase
- Material Damage for the operational assets
- Loss of revenue for the operational services

OAMPS
OAMPS has been Zurich’s exclusive distribution channel for petrochemical related insurance in the UK since 1999, so OAMPS customers benefit from unique access to a portfolio of support products and services. During this time we have developed the policy to ensure that our cover is market leading.
OAMPS customers include Independent Fuel Distributors, Lubricant Blenders, LPG Risks, Waste Oil Collectors, Tankers & Hazardous Goods Hauliers, Biofuels Tank and Equipment Manufacturers.

Public sector bodies
Zurich also provides insurance and risk management solutions for public sector bodies and government agencies such as QUANGOS, trading funds and the armed forces. It is this group of customers that have the most diverse requirements, but whose needs are catered for by the experts within our Specialist Public Services team.
