The DCA reforms

Why have Zurich Municipal produced this brochure?

We have produced this brochure to summarise some of the key points of the DCA's proposals to help you understand the changes that will be needed to your operations when these proposals take effect.

We also wanted to offer you the opportunity to give us your views on these proposals during this consultation process and to remind you that you can respond directly to the DCA with your views on the proposals.

The formal consultation ended on the 13th of July 2007, Zurich have now made a formal response to the DCA. This can be accessing the members area.

What proposals have the DCA made?

In April the Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) published a consultation paper called 'case track limits and claims process for personal injury claims'. The proposals involve a major shake-up in the way personal injury claims are handled and will have a significant impact on all of our customers if they are implemented.

To view details of the proposals on the DCA website, please click here.

Why has the DCA developed these proposals?

The consultation follows a report by the Better Regulation Task Force on compensation culture, in which it suggested changes are needed to speed up the claims process and make it more user-friendly.

How do I communicate my views to Zurich Municipal?
