Zurich launches report at Charity Event

At the CFDG Annual conference last week, Zurich launched the findings of their new research report Tough Choices: Different perspectives on long-term risks facing the civil society.  This updated report contains research specific to community and social organisations and follows on from the full paper that was launched in November 2010.

Along with a foreword from Sir Stephen Bubb, this publication contains some updated research and explores the various risks that are likely to face the sector over the next few years.

Key findings from this report include the fact that 62%* of those asked said that they would be unlikely to volunteer in order to help community organisations to deliver local services and 47%* of respondents think that letting voluntary or charitable organisations run public services would be a bad thing.

The report also includes commentary about the Big Society concept and what the risks are to giving more power to individuals and local groups rather than central and local government.

Zurich will also be taking this publication to the CFDG Northern Event on 8th June at the Renaissance Hotel in Manchester.  Please come and visit our stand where we will be happy to discuss the findings in more detail.
