Zurich extends notification reporting period for riot-related claims
Following the Government's announcement on 11 August about its decision to extend the reporting provisions of the Riot (Damages) Act to 42 days, Zurich is pleased to advise its property insurance policyholders that the notification period has been increased from 7 days to 30 days in respect of this week's series of riots, where a condition exists on policies for the reporting of riot claims.
We hope that this extension of time will help to minimise any difficulties our customers may be experiencing in submitting a claim. We would urge any of our customers to contact us as soon as they can in order that we can provide them with information and advice.
Zurich is continuing to do everything we can for our customers to help them get back to normal as quickly as possible. Our claims teams have been liaising with our commercial, personal and public sector customers across the country this week to ensure we are aware of any losses incurred, and to start the claims process. Zurich's loss adjusters and major incident teams are on-site where possible, and they have been assisting on the ground where it is safe for them to do so.
