Zurich protects street parties
Zurich has launched its Street Event insurance policy - designed specifically for those organising street events.
The popularity of street parties has increased over recent years, and with the Royal Wedding on 29th April and the Big Lunch on 5th June, there's even more reason to celebrate.
Whilst not required by law, we recommend that you take out insurance to provide you with peace of mind that if something goes wrong, you're covered. In addition, some councils may insist that you have a minimum level of public liability insurance in place.
Zurich's Street event insurance provides organisers with public liability cover for a one-off event for £63.60 (inc. IPT) and optional ‘All Risks’ cover for an additional £26.50 (inc. IPT).
Public Liability
Zurich’s public liability insurance costs £63.60 (inc. IPT) for a one-off event and provides the following features & benefits:
- cover for those organising a street event for up to 200 participants
- cover for anyone who is volunteering to help plan and run the street event
- a £5,000,000 limit of indemnity
- no excess.
Product benefit conditions apply.
This public liability policy does not cover injury or damage arising from:
- alcohol or drugs
- inflatables e.g. bouncy castles
- fireworks and bonfires
- damage to property belonging to you or in either your or any volunteers custody and control or held in trust by or borrowed, rented, leased or hired for use by you.
'All Risks'
‘All Risks’ cover is available as an optional extension to our public liability insurance.
For an additional £26.50 (including IPT), you can cover hired property such as table and chairs, marquees and generators, up to a value of £2,500. A £100 excess applies.

‘All Risks’ policy extension does not cover:
- Fraud or dishonesty
- Theft from an unattended vehicle
- Unexplained disappearance
- Property more specifically insured.
