New Rehabilitation proposition launches in Zurich Commercial Direct

Millions of working days are lost each year following injuries in the workplace. Clearly this can have significant implications on an employer, which in turn will have a knock-on effect on the UK economy. It's not surprising that rehabilitation features highly on the Government's agenda.

Following a successful pilot study, Zurich is ready to introduce a pre-claim rehabilitation service to customers in the Local Authority and Further Education markets.

How does Zurich Rehabilitation work?

Following notification of a reportable incident our professional medical team will speak to the injured party and agree the most appropriate medical treatment required to help them return to work as soon as possible. The customer has control of the rehabilitation referral process so although we offer rehabilitation before establishing legal liability, we will only do so at the request of the customer.

Benefits to the employer

Our Rehabilitation proposition is part of a combined insurance, risk management and medical management approach for those customers looking to manage injuries to employees (and students in the case of the Further Education market).

An employer reduces the hidden costs associated with absent employees, such as:

  • loss of productivity
  • retraining
  • overtime expenditure
  • recruitment expenditure

Benefit to your employees

Early medical intervention enables an injured employee to return to work quicker, reducing physical discomfort and potential long-term mental anguish.
