Officials Indemnity – Nationality & Settlement Checking Services

It is becoming increasingly common for our Local Authority customers to work with the UK Border Agency to check applications from non-EU migrants wishing to settle in the UK

This is in addition to the nationality checking service that many Local Authorities already provide for the Agency.

Policy Cover

Under the standard Officials Indemnity policy wording, claims arising from these activities would be excluded. However, we recognise that the role of Local Authorities is constantly changing and, to help our policyholders deal with these new risks, we are happy to extend our policies to cover these activities. No additional charge will be made for this extra cover.

For this additional cover to operate it must be added to your Officials Indemnity policy by endorsement. If you are engaged in these activities, please contact your underwriter to arrange for this cover to be added to your policy.
