Zurich Municipal is delighted to announce that the November issue of Court Circular is now available.
Our popular customer publication keeps you up to speed with the latest court judgments affecting Public Services and the Civil Society.
This month, we report on a variety of judgments covering a broad range of topics:
- The focus this month is on Occupier’s Liability. We discuss risks taken by visitors to private premises, for example getting injured in a swimming pool. Should they have noticed obvious dangers themselves or did the pool owner have a duty to warn?
- Our Police customers will be interested in Supreme Court rulings about the human right aspect of how evidence is obtained and used; this section investigates amongst others the admissibility of evidence acquired from questioning a suspect other than at a police station
- We talk about the Supreme Court ruling on Scotland’s new legislation to allow claims for damages caused by pleural plaques and the north/ south divide this has created
- And there are many more interesting and important rulings on Motor, Highways, Employer’s Liability, Schools, Public Liability, Damages, Costs & Civil Procedure
Court Circular is a free benefit we send out to all our customers every two months.
