If you are a local council, we know how difficult it is to get full, accurate information on risk. This is why we set up our Local Council Advisory Service (LCAS), dedicated to helping you manage risks at your council. The service:

• keeps you informed about legislation
• assists in minimising the potential risk of injury to employees and members of the public
• helps reduce claims being made against the council.

LCAS is available to all local councils, whether or not they are insured with Zurich and membership offers access to Zurich’s expertise and support.

As an LCAS member you will have access to:

• An operational risk management helpline with dedicated email address - phone or email us, and we will respond to your query by the next working day.
• A comprehensive guide to risk management. This is an interactive pdf containing:
  - practical guidance on specific risks – from manual handling and office safety to sports facilities and managing events
  - useful documents such as checklists covering issues including playground inspections and asbestos
  - 30 completed example risk assessments.
• A twice yearly email bulletin keeping you up to date on operational risk management issues.
• A free place at one of our annual regional seminars. These cover topics high on council agendas, such as managing events safely or accidents and claims reviews.
• 25% off risk management products. Our members enjoy a discount on all Zurich’s local council risk management products.
