Zurich has been working with Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) to produce a revised version of the "Maintaining your hall" publication. This guide is available to purchase from ACRE (an order form is available on the ACRE website - www.acre.org.uk), and it provides management committees with practical advice on how to ensure their village hall remains the building that their communities can rely on.
The publication covers information such as health and safety, technical issues and security, as well as providing a useful guidance into the statutory requirements of maintaining a village hall. Zurich wanted to support this publication because village halls are vital to the running of a community and, as we know from experience, if anything happens to the village hall, it can have such a dramatic effect on village life.

Through working with ACRE and the Rural Community Action Network, Zurich has developed a greater understanding of the insurance and risk management needs of village halls and has responded to these needs by offering tailored insurance and risk management support through the Village Halls Plus Group (www.villagehallinsurance.com).
