Financial inclusion is now a major challenge for public policy. HM Treasury’s Financial Inclusion Taskforce has been looking at ways to extend access to insurance among financially excluded groups.
The ABI together with Zurich invite you to a workshop on Tenant’s home contents schemes, followed by a buffet lunch at 1pm. The workshops will start at 10am and will take place at our Zurich offices on:
- 30th June 2009 in Birmingham
- 7th July 2009 in Cardiff
This will be a great opportunity for delegates to discuss:
- Different approaches to running contents insurance schemes.
- Explore the challenges to running a successful scheme.
- How to overcome barriers for development.
- How to engage tenants and increase take up.
We are delighted to welcome Mick Johnson of the DWP’s ‘Now Lets Talk Money’ campaign as the keynote speaker at the event.
The Government is focused on improving take-up of tenants contents insurance and have committed £12m to fund financial inclusion champions who will provide expertise on financial inclusion to local authorities and Registered Social Landlords. Mick Johnson will explain more about the work of the champions, and place their role in the wider context.
The insurance industry remains committed to supporting the Government’s work in this area and Zurich Municipal is keen to work with its housing provider clients to develop contents insurance schemes and make them as successful as possible.
If you would like to attend please email alison.hastings@uk.zurich.com. If you are unable to attend in person, please feel free to extend this invitation to colleagues, especially if they work in the financial inclusion area.
Further details about the day will be sent upon confirmation of your booking.
Please see below the draft workshop agenda and we look forward to seeing you there.
