New council members following 4th of June local elections?

Councils are under increasing pressure to ensure that risk management is a key element in decision making.  With 34 local elections held last week, the need for council members, new and old, to understand these responsibilities is greater than ever.  Zurich has developed a training package that will ensure your council members have a sound understanding of the important of risk management, its principles and terminology.

In carrying out their duties, members are likely to be exposed to many areas where risk management is a central concern – including business continuity, partnerships, outsourcing and procurement.  Zurich has extensive experience and knowledge of risk management, business continuity, facilitation and partnership working, having trained and worked alongside several thousand members in these areas.

The training will be run by fully trained and experienced Risk Management Consultants and will:

  • Introduce members to risk management and its benefits
  • Provide a definition of members' roles and responsibilities with regard to risk management
  • Enable members to give their perspective on the main risks their organisation faces
  • Increase members' risk management skills and enable them to contribute effectively in this area
