The LGC Awards 2009 have now launched

The LGC Awards are the National Awards for Local Government and are now in their 12th year.  It is the largest and most prestigious event in the Local Government calendar.  It is the first awards ceremony to give councils the opportunity to highlight, and celebrate, their successes, the LGC Awards place a spotlight on the endless stream of good work being carried out in this part of the public sector, which so rarely receives the positive national profile it deserves.
