Customer mailing on the Government's new rules on pensions

This week sees the start of a major customer mailing to nearly one million pension customers to let them know about some important changes that the Government are making to the rules on pensions.

The new rules take effect on 6 April 2006.  You might have seen this day referred to as A-day and the rule changes referred to as Pensions Simplification or Pensions Reform.  With these changes, the Government is introducing one set of rules that will apply to all types of pension.  As well as making the rules consistent, this should also make them simpler.  The new rules give people greater flexibility over how they save for retirement.
