We are delighted to announce that Zurich Municipal has won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award at last night's British Insurance Awards ceremony.
The CSR award, which is open to an authorised insurer or broker that has proven to deliver its corporate and social responsibility objectives, was awarded in recognition of Zurich Municpal's Arson Combated Together (ACT) schools initiative. ACT was designed to educate students about the dangers and consequences of arson and the business ran a multi-faceted campaign to address the behavioural patterns of school children that were responsible for this problem. This included a theatre project with supporting workshops and resources. Schools across Scotland, Yorkshire and Nottingham were visited.
The award was collected by Tom Shewry, Head of Education for Zurich Municipal at the Awards ceremony at London's Royal Albert Hall.
'Clearly we are thrilled that the ACT initiative has been acknowledged in this way. The Fire Services have been a true partner and continue to play a crucial role in implementing the programme with schools in their local community. With three schools suffering from arson attacks every day, we cannot afford to be complacent and must continue to put measures in place to tackle the problem.’
