Zurich Financial Services appoints Group Head of Government and Industry Affairs

Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) has appointed Peter Buomberger (53) as Group Head of Government and Industry Affairs, effective October 1.  In this new position, Peter Buomberger will coordinate the Group’s interactions with various governmental and industry bodies around the world.  He will also coordinate the Group’s current government affairs activities in Washington and London.

Peter Buomberger joins Zurich after a long and distinguished career with the Swiss National Bank and UBS where he last served as Group Head Public Policy and Research.  In 2003, he became the founding Managing Director of the CCRS Centre for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at the University of Zurich.  While relinquishing the executive function at the Center, Peter Buomberger will continue to teach a course related to his current activities at the University of Zurich.
