Zurich completes sale of health insurance businesses in Germany to DKV

Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) announced today that it has completed the sale of Zurich Krankenversicherung AG (Deutschland), as well as the 45% stake that Zurich’s subsidiary Deutscher Herold AG holds in GLOBALE Krankenversicherungs-AG (GLOBALE) to the Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG (DKV). This transaction was first announced on March 31, 2004. Both parties agreed to keep the price confidential.
The distribution agreement that is part of the transaction will allow Zurich Group Germany to take advantage of the size and competencies of DKV to offer their clients a broader range of health insurance products and services.
