Richard Coleman to take over the helm of Navigators and General (N&G)

1 July 2004

Navigators and General (N&G) the UK's number one in yacht and motorboat insurance, and part of the Zurich group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Coleman as its new Head.

Previously, Richard set up Woodstock Insurance Brokers in 2002 and succeeded in building a thriving business.  He will replace Rod Daniel at N&G who has decided to move back to Leeds and will take over the role of Development Underwriting Manager.

Richard Coleman comments "I am delighted to be joining N&G. I am inheriting a real asset to the Zurich group which is currently experiencing the most successful period in its 82 year history.  I intend to build on this success and will investigate opportunities to expand the business, including new products and markets.

"We recognise that brokers are vital to our success and we are pleased that we can in turn help them, for example, by providing support through the up and coming FSA regulation changes."

"I currently have no intention of changing the existing management team who have played a vital part in the success of the business.  Their years of experience in the boating and insurance industries and the relationships that they have forged with key contacts will continue to be a major asset"

Mark Winlow, Managing Director of UK Personal Lines comments "Rod has made a major contribution to N&G and we are delighted to be retaining his valuable experience and expertise.  "Richard has a great vision for growth at N&G and I am confident that he can deliver his plans to achieve even greater success."
