Zurich Financial Services has appointed Martin Davis (42) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Zurich International Life business, effective 1 December 2004, subject to approval by the Isle of Man Insurance and Pensions Authority. In this position, Martin Davis succeeds and reports to David Sims, CEO of Zurich's UK Life Insurance business.
Zurich International Life focuses on providing primarily life, pension and investment products and services both to corporates and expatriates across the world. It has significant presences in the Isle of Man, Jersey, the Middle East and Hong Kong, although it also has staff in the UK, Switzerland, and around the world.
David Sims comments: "Our Zurich International Life business is in great shape and retains growth potential. Martin Davis's appointment will further strengthen our team to continue their focus on delivery and growth of business in a consolidating market."
Martin Davis joins from Sesame Group Limited, where his present position is Commercial Director. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Corillian International Ltd, the global leading internet banking software supplier. He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and has an MBA from London City Business School.
Martin Davis comments: "I'm looking forward to applying my energy and experience to help grow Zurich International Life business. Initially I'll be focussing on further developing the customer proposition, ensuring effective market access and developing the business into target territories. Of course, my first priority is ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding financial results - it's an exciting prospect."
