The scheme, which has already been implemented at 16 of Zurich's 53 assessment centres in the UK guarantees to issue new ACS certificates within 5 working days or offer a full refund. Zurich will also update the CORGI national register with the details of their certification within the 5-day period. The fast track scheme will be offered alongside Zurich's normal certification process.
This year, the vast majority of ACoP certificates will expire and if gas operatives don't get their new certificate promptly they won't be able to work. Zurich has set up a technical and administrative team dedicated to giving gas operatives a fast turn around, enabling them to get back to work faster.
David Cowburn, Director of Zurich Certification said. "So far we have certificated 75 gas operatives using fast track. But as we have certificated over 31,000 tradesmen in the UK we believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg. We are urging all gas tradesmen to call our free phone number 0500 600 545 to find out where they can get a fast track certificate. We know that the majority of tradesmen cannot afford to lose money through not being able to work so we've designed fast track specifically to help them."
