Zurich IFA Group links with Popplewell to offer IFA support programme

13 January 2003

Embargoed 13th January 2003: Zurich IFA Group (ZIFA) has linked with Keith Popplewell, thrice-voted Insurance Personality of the Year by IFAs, to offer independent advisers a unique new support proposition in 2003.

Popplewell and ZIFA are working closely together on a series of initiatives designed to make life easier for IFAs. The comprehensive programme involves a series of national roadshows bringing IFAs and specialists together; a facility enabling IFAs to construct their own website and get online in easy steps, online access to the latest industry news, and concise analysis of complex information, as well as a package of Popplewell presentations on CD-rom, offered free to IFAs through ZIFA.

Popplewell explains why he has chosen to work with ZIFA:

"The difference is that the team at ZIFA put both the IFA and their client first and this gives them the edge. Our new partnership is a really positive way to help IFAs identify and enter new markets, expand existing markets and gain credibility with professional introducers. I want to help ZIFA become number one in the mind of every IFA. Fundamentally, what they do is right and done in the right way. I firmly believe that this new partnership will establish that connection."

Jim Reeve, managing director of ZIFA, is equally enthusiastic about the new partnership:

"We are committed to adding value to IFAs by helping them to grow their businesses. We are delighted to be working exclusively with Keith to deliver a unique range of services which will give IFAs a competitive edge in this challenging marketplace."

Details of the programme include:

  • IFA Roadshows
Commencing in February, Popplewell will be one of the main attractions at a series of national roadshows focussing on crucial IFA issues. These will provide an opportunity for IFAs to meet some of the industry's leading specialists. The programme will give IFAs the competitive edge to survive and thrive in a depolarised environment and kicks off with 'How to Thrive in a Bear Market.'

  • IFAsite
The quickest, easiest and cheapest way to construct a professional website; IFAsite provides a free template for IFAs to build their own unique site, enabling them to create their own web identity without any of the usual associated costs and technical knowledge requirements. The programme uses simple prompts to enable IFAs to adapt a 'front end' supported by links to elements of Probrief.com, which are continually updated.

  • Probrief.com
Available exclusively to IFAs registered through ZIFAweb, Probrief.com is designed with the help of IFAs and industry experts to ensure its usefulness and relevance, offering both topline and more in-depth analysis of critical issues. Key features include:

    • Webwatch, a summary of the key issues from more than 30 priority websites that IFAs should be accessing on a regular basis.
    • Detailed examination of vital topics and their impact on IFAs and the financial services market by Keith Popplewell
    • 'Living documents' - in-depth briefing papers on technical issues, updated online as information becomes available, helping IFAs to keep their fingers on the pulse

  • Popplewell CD-Rom Package
A series of invaluable CD-Roms available free through ZIFA in which Keith Popplewell, thrice-voted Insurance Personality of the Year by IFAs, discusses key topics such as asset allocation, portfolio planning, Pensions Drawdown and the Myners Report.

For IFA's seeking any further information, there is a free helpline 0500 546 546.

    Notes to Editors

IFAsite is delivered free through ZIFA, but if required, responsibility for site development can be totally passed over to ZIFA for a nominal fee.

    Probrief.com
Free to IFAs via ZIFAweb for an introductory period of six months after which it will be available at a discounted rate. (The usual cost of Probrief.com is £780 per IFA each year).
