Zurich launches free 24 hour risk consultancy phone line

9th July 2003

Businesses are to get free access to  "riskline" a new telephone consultancy from Zurich Risk Services, all for the cost of a phone call.

Recent research, undertaken by Zurich Risk Services revealed that customers expect a full management relationship when dealing with risk management providers. They are looking for depth of product offering, with compliance often being the trigger point for purchase. But the research also highlighted that customers see legislation as a 'minefield' and need to turn to a provider for advice.

Available from 23 June, riskline will allow customers to fill their knowledge gap. Customers can use riskline in a variety of ways, including checking complex legislation and compliance.  It can also support people undertaking risk, particularly health and safety as part of their job.

Roger Cottell, Managing Director for Zurich Risk Services said; "riskline has been designed to fill knowledge gaps regarding legislation and save businesses from having to search through legislative documents. Typically, businesses can use riskline to get updates on existing legislation and find when amended or new legislation is due out, when they need to comply and how this will impact their business."

Zurich Risk Services' partner National Britannia operates the line. There are three main elements to riskline:

  • A 24-hour risk based telephone line, which offers advice, not just a reiteration of legislation, all for the cost of a phone call
  • Guidance notes that summarise legislation - these can be emailed or faxed if a caller needs more information
  • A quarterly technical newsletter - containing articles written in response to queries raised over the telephone line
