LONDON (12 December, 2001) -- Zurich Financial Services' Community Programme has been named Community Initiative of the Year by the Insurance Times Awards. The awards ceremony took place in Birmingham on Friday, 7 December. Zurich also took home six other honours:
- Broker/Intermediary Support Package of the Year
- The Claims Award
- Commercial Lines Insurer of the Year
- Personal Lines Insurer of the Year
- Motor Insurer of the Year
- General Insurer of the Year award
This is the second such award in as many weeks -- last week, Zurich was awarded Company of the Year in the Whitbread Volunteer Action Awards.
Roger Day, Managing Director, Claims Division and chairman of Zurich Cares - General Business, who picked up the award on behalf of Zurich, said, "We are delighted to have our programme selected for this honour. Our employees contribute both time and money to the Zurich Cares programme to support the most disadvanataged people in society. This is an excellent recognition for their efforts".
