Directors & Officers Insurance

Directors, Officers, and Company Liability insurance protects the directors and officers, as well as senior managerial staff, in your business against claims arising from their actions and decisions in their official capacities.  International law means Directors and Officers can become embroiled in court cases outside the country they work in and face extradition, which can result in substantial defence costs if a director or officer faces criminal or regulatory charges.  Additionally, there’s a danger that the actions of one Director or Officer could result in cover being withdrawn completely, leaving other Directors and Officers exposed.

We treat your Directors and Officers as individuals.

Our Directors, Officers, and Company Liability insurance policy can protect both your company’s reputation and the personal assets of its Directors and Officers (D&O).  We cover each Director and Officer individually, which means that if we had to exclude a claim for fraud or a criminal act for a single Director or Officer, or rescind the policy for a single Director or Officer – due to, for example, material non-disclosure – the remaining Directors and Officers would still be covered.

Our global expertise will help your business to keep its good name

With Directors, Officers, and Company Liability insurance from Zurich your company’s Directors and Officers can concentrate on improving business performance, safe in the knowledge that they have the global protection they need.  With Zurich’s comprehensive Directors and Officers insurance, you can be assured of retaining and attracting the top talent that your business needs.

We offer comprehensive D&O cover

We offer one of the most comprehensive D&O insurance products currently available.  Our cover responds to the potential exposures of global organisations and their directors and officers.  We can offer you capacity up to £25 million in respect of global companies.

Risk selection

We want to work with companies that can demonstrate ‘best practice’ across all elements of their business practices, procedures and governance. We are transparent about our pricing methodology and share with you the rationale behind the pricing and the key elements in our risk assessment.

The risk analyses we carry out use a wide range of data, both internally and externally. Some key areas we’ll look at are records of the Board of Directors’ performance, the mix between non-executive and executive board directors and other commitments they have, analysis of the financial statements, reviews of all corporate governance procedures, audit process and Code of Ethics. We believe the approach and culture of senior management in your business is a significant influence on the more tangible aspects of risk management.
