Global warming issues aren’t just hot air to us. We’re committed to protecting our environment both as a responsible insurer and an environmentally responsible company.
Zurich joined ClimateWise in 2008 to take steps to address the challenges presented by climate change in association with other insurance organisations. In addition, a network of employees is engaged in climate change issues.
ClimateWise is an initiative started as part of the ‘Business in the Environment Programme’ commissioned by Prince Charles. ClimateWise was set up to challenge the insurance industry to consider collective industry action on climate change.
We manage our own carbon footprint and continuously seek opportunities to run our business in an environmentally sustainable way, including energy and water conservation, waste minimisation, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, commuter/business travel and reducing paper consumption both internally and to our customers.
We also consider the environmental impact when designing products and services and were one of the first insurance companies in the UK to launch green charters.
