The way we work shows that we can be trusted to help customers find the financial protection they need. This includes showing a commitment to integrity and working in ways that are right for our community, environment, marketplace and workplace.
Our values
In the UK, Zurich aims to protect people's lives and property, and be the number one provider of financial protection and investment solutions in terms of customer focus, financial performance and employee motivation. We follow the Zurich Group's shared values of Zurich Basics, which includes sustainability, to form a solid foundation for behaviour:
Integrity
We treat everyone in a fair and honest manner. We comply with all applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
Customer centricity
We put customers at the heart of all we do.
We deliver when it matters.
Teamwork
We work together as one team.
We share and communicate openly and fairly.
We value our diverse, talented workforce, and support them so that they can contribute to their full potential.
Sustainability
We create value for our shareholders, customers, employees, for our company and for society by proactively addressing social, environmental and governance issues.
We prioritize issues based on the potential impact on the business, level of societal concern and our ability to make a difference.
We value long-term success over short-term gains.
Excellence
We aim for the highest quality and strive for continuous improvement.
We test what we do and how we do it for fairness, diversity, trust and mutual respect.
Commitment
To demonstrate our commitment to CR related issues, Zurich in the UK is a member of Business in the Community.
We also participate in the Corporate Responsibility and Business in the Environment indices.

Corporate Social Responsibility Council
We’ve set up a Corporate Responsibility Council that acts as a steering group for all our CR activity – identifying and recommending priorities and approaches, and supporting individual business units to build CR into the planning process.
The terms of reference for that group are:
- identifying a best practice approach to CR which fits with the strategic aims of the UK business and ZFS global strategy
- establish CR priorities for UK business
- influence the business to adopt and implement these priorities through normal functional/ business processes
- support the embedding of CR targets into business plans through communication and regular monitoring of performance
- measure achievements of CR targets and re-evaluate priorities based on changes in best practice or performance.
The CR Council members includes representatives from across the UK and is chaired by Peter Cambell, UK HR Director
