The Opening Night

Rain was unable to dampen the festive spirits of all those that gathered at the Zurich sponsored Winchester Cathedral Ice Rink to mark the grand opening on Friday, 30 November. The Dean of Winchester, the Very Reverend James Atwell, The Mayor of Winchester, The Right Worshipful Councillor Christopher Pines, Mark Searles, Chief Marketing Officer for Zurich UK, and Robin Cousins were there to open the rink. Meridian, The Hampshire Chronicle, Southampton Echo, Wave 105 FM and other local press and radio broadcasters were invited to cover the event and Fiona Nicol, UK Marketing Communications Director for Zurich, gave interviews throughout the day.
