Our selection process

As you would expect, we have a thorough selection process to ensure we’re able to recruit top talent. Here you’ll find the four stages, which we aim to complete within four to six weeks.

Stage 1: Online application form and Situational Judgement Test
Your first step will be to fill in an online application form. This gives you the chance to tell us a bit more about yourself and why you're interested in a career at Zurich. You will need to answer three open-ended questions - it's an opportunity for you to tell us about your motivation, prior work experience, extracurricular activities, etc. Please bear in mind you will be assessed based on these answers, hence it's important to provide well thought-out, detailed responses. Next you will be asked to complete our Situational Judgement Test which will not only assess your approach to certain workplace problems and scenarios, but also give a realistic preview of the types of challenges you could come across as a graduate working for Zurich. Since the Situational Judgement Test is an integral part of the selection process, please be advised that your application will only be reviewed once you have completed this stage of the process.  Please note it is only possible to complete this test once, so if you are interested in applying for more than one programme or business function, please contact us to discuss.

Stage 2: Online verbal and numerical reasoning tests
These tests will measure your ability to understand information presented to you in different formats. The first test assesses your numerical reasoning skills. You will be using facts and figures presented in various statistical tables to answer questions designed to assess your ability to evaluate numerical data. The verbal reasoning test consists of a series of text passages, each of which is followed by several statements. Your task will be to read the passage and select the correct answer from available options.

Stage 3: Telephone interview
We'll call you to ask motivational and competency-based questions. We'll also discuss your understanding of the role you've applied for and your general knowledge of Zurich. Before the interview make sure to prepare information about Zurich, the services and products we provide, our clients, competitors, etc. Be prepared to answer questions about our graduate programme, the role you have applied for as well as the professional qualifications you will be studying towards during the scheme.

Stage 4: Assessment Centres
During this comprehensive one day assessment you'll meet members of the Zurich team and current graduates. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about Zurich and participate in various presentations and group discussions.

Note to all international students:
We accept applications from international candidates. Whilst we may not be able to offer work permit sponsorship, we will be assessing every application on a case-by-case basis. When you apply, please ensure that you are aware of your own employment status as you will be required to provide details.

Note to all candidates who are interested in applying for more than one programme or business function:
You are only eligible to submit one application, so if you are interested in applying for more than one programme or business function, please contact us to discuss.
