In particular, we believe that in order to achieve our strategic aim of becoming the best global insurer as defined by our customers, our shareholders and our people, we need to set and maintain high standards of responsibility and integrity.
In the UK, this dedication is reflected in our Corporate Responsibility (CR) aim which is to:
"...embrace CR and pursue our business with high standards of responsibility and integrity towards our employees, communities, society and the environment."
To demonstrate our commitment to CR related issues we have been members of Business in the Community for a number of years, participate in their annual 'Top 100 companies that count' Corporate Responsibility index and have received gold status.
In 2008, Zurich was proud to be one of the first recipients of the Business in the Community developed CommunityMark. This recognises effective community investment, which in our case is delivered by a registered charity, the Zurich Community Trust.
Also, Zurich in the UK has again qualifies for the payroll giving 'Gold Award' as a result of the level of Give As You Earn participation from Zurich Employees being over 10% (actually 24.8%) and that Zurich, through the annual business donation to the Trust, matches employee payroll giving.
