Although Crimson is a powerful tool, using it is simple and straightforward. To help you become familiar with the system’s various functions and reports you can use our tutorial.
This tutorial is a guide to Crimson, explaining the functions, features and benefits of each section on the site.
This page is your first port of call on the Crimson site. It gives you background about the portal, the areas of risk that are covered and provides links to all other sections of the site.
In this section, you can view and download inspection reports.
To view your reports, you’ll need to select 'engineering' using the dropdown menu at the top of the page. After you’ve done this, you should select one of the views in the dropdown section on the right of the page.
You can then refine your search further by choosing the name, location and date for the report – each of these options appears in sequence. Once your search criteria are set, you simply click on the icon in the ‘report’.
This section gives you a wide range of data. You can download all of the data shown on the website (and more) into Excel or html.
Simply select the data report you want from the extensive menu of data download reports, fill in a ‘data filter’ screen and Crimson will convert the data into an Excel spreadsheet for you.
If you’re set up as a site administrator or security user, you can use this section of Crimson to manage the following:
- Manage company profile – Here you can manage the overall settings of the site such as company name, company address, primary contact, etc.
- Manage communities – Clicking here means you can add, amend and delete communities from your site. Communities allow you to create groups of users who are able to see specific reports that are relevant to them rather than seeing everything on the site.
- Manage users – This allows you to add, amend and delete users of the system (security users, community owners and community members). When a person is added to the system, they aren’t automatically added to a community – which they must be to have access to reports.
- Manage schedules – Allows you to assign schedules to particular communities so that they can be viewed by relevant people.
