Zurich launches new electrical installation inspection service
We've recently launched a new service for fixed wiring inspections helping businesses to manage their duty of care in relation to the The Electricity at Work Regulations (EAW) 1989. These regulations impose a requirement on employers to maintain their electrical installations in a safe condition.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) views regular inspections as an integral part of any maintenance programme, and because fixed wiring has no obvious moving parts to degrade, an inspection is the starting point to identify defects that pose a risk of injury to people or property. Each year, around 100 electrical accidents at work are reported to the HSE with approx. 30 people dying from their injuries.
Zurich’s electrical installation inspection service is looking to make meeting the requirements of EAW easier. The service is flexible; there are five key products covering thorough, working and visual inspections with variable reporting options.
Zurich has over 80 dedicated electrical engineer surveyors with industry experience located nationwide. They are backed up a technical services team providing expertise and insight. Reports can be delivered on-line, and a customer can be guaranteed of a Zurich’s independence – offering a totally objective inspection.
