Want to apply?

As you would expect, we have a thorough selection process to ensure we’re able to recruit top talent. Here you’ll find the four stages which we aim to complete within four to six weeks.

Stage 1: Online application form and values based assessment

Your first step will be to fill in an online application form. This gives you the chance to tell us a bit more about yourself and why you're interested in a career at Zurich. You will need to answer four open-ended questions about your motivations and expectations as well as some behaviour questions about the approach you’ve taken within specific situations.

Please bear in mind that your assessment will be based on these answers, so it's important to provide well considered and detailed responses. Should you progress, you may be queried on these in the next stages of the process, so make sure you give it the necessary focus!

Next you will need to complete our values based assessment test, where you’ll be asked to choose between different approaches to situations at work. As the values based assessment is an integral part of the selection process, please be advised that your application will only be reviewed once you have completed this stage of the process. Please note: it is only possible to complete this test once, so if you are interested in applying for more than one programme or business function, please contact us to discuss.

Stage 2: Online critical thinking and numerical reasoning tests

These tests will measure your ability to understand information presented to you in different formats. They take between 15 and 30 minutes each, so make sure you clear plenty of time and that the environment you work in is free from distractions.

The numerical reasoning test will assess your ability to accurately evaluate and interpret numerical data which may be presented in tables or graphs. An ability to work with numerical data or to make accurate and speedy decisions based on figures and stats is important in most of our roles. The critical thinking test is designed to measure how you recognise assumptions, evaluate arguments and draw conclusions from verbal information.

Stage 3: Telephone interview

During the 45-minute telephone interview we will ask motivational and competency-based questions. We'll also discuss your understanding of the role you've applied for and your general interest in Zurich and the insurance industry. Before the interview, make sure you prepare by re-visiting your application form and researching our company values and the services and products we provide. You can find out about Zurich Values here.

Stage 4: Assessment centres

During this comprehensive one day assessment you'll meet members of the Zurich team and current graduates. The day will consist of two interviews, a case study analysis presentation, a group exercise and an in-tray exercise.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn about Zurich and to meet various representatives from the business.

Note to all candidates who are interested in applying for more than one business function:

You are only eligible to submit one application, so if you are interested in applying for more than one graduate opportunity, please contact us to talk through this before applying.

Note to all international students:

We accept applications from international candidates. We will be assessing every application on a case-by-case basis. When you apply, please ensure that you are aware of your own employment status as you will be required to provide details.
