What to do in the event of storm damage

• Zurich will cover you for storm damage, including fences, gates and hedges (if Garden Cover is in force and the main residence is damaged at the same time). Check your policy document to be sure – or get your broker to do it. He can also advise you on any extra cover you might want to take out.
• If you take pictures of the damage you’ve incurred, and keep any spoilt items, this will be very helpful in speeding up your claim.
• It’s also advisable to keep some reference to the actual date of the storm – such as newspaper cuttings or web printouts – so that we can verify things easily.
• Please try not to undertake immediate repairs unless you absolutely have to. It’s much better for us to assess the situation first as we can then put you in touch with some of our approved repairmen if it’s necessary.
• Please call us on 0870 010 8888 or inform your broker of the damage and you’ll be able to find out about alternative accommodation if you need it.
