Motor claims service

In an ever increasing litigious society, Zurich has adopted a proactive approach to managing third party claims as part of a motor incident. There are no claim forms required when reporting a commercial motor incident. Our telephone based reporting procedure, ensures a prompt response and immediate solutions.

How does the motor claims service work?

  • We have one telephone number for all commercial motor claims and this service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – 08453 002 055.
    • The person you speak to will understand the nature of your claim, gather all the information required to process your claim in one telephone call, and offer relevant help and advice.
    • This is the best possible method of reporting, enabling us to gather all the information we need to manage your claim proactively.
    • Claims can also be reported online (brokers only - log in now) or by email to claims.frsc@uk.zurich.com
  • Customers, drivers, brokers and third parties can all use this service to report an incident.
  • Early notification will enable us to act quickly to get your people back on the road as soon as possible and manage claims costs.

Key features of the motor claims service

  • Immediate action will be taken to deal with the incident for example by providing:
    • access to an approved repairer (See Motor approved repairers for further details)
    • class A courtesy car*
    • a motor engineers’ inspection
    • glass repair or replacement
    • replacement of stolen audio equipment
    • discounted hire car arrangements.
  • Zurich has a team of experts specialising in injury and damage claims.
  • Proactive third party claims service including all of the above (should the incident be the insured drivers’ fault). Where appropriate, we will contact the injured parties to facilitate physiotherapy treatment, assisting recovery and minimising costs.

What this means for you

Our aim is to minimise disruption to your business by ensuring:

  • no unnecessary paperwork
  • repairs are completed quickly and to a high standard and we are invoiced directly by repairer net of excess and VAT if applicable
  • we will pursue the responsible party for recovery of costs and if uninsured loss, recovery service is covered under the policy. We will appoint a firm of solicitors to recover costs.
  • we will contact the injured party and use our medical management team to arrange an appropriate course of treatment (further detail is available in the Medical Management Centre section).
