Introduction

We are pleased to announce Zurich's proposals have been approved by the High Court of Justice in England and Wales.

At 00:01 on 1 January 2009, all the general insurance business from the UK branch of Zurich Insurance Company, Zurich International (UK) Limited, Navigators and General Insurance Company Limited and Zurich GSG Limited will transfer to the UK branch of Zurich Insurance Ireland Limited (ZIIL).

Zurich also changed the company name and registration status of ZIIL to Zurich Insurance plc (ZIP).

As such, from 1 January 2009, the company will trade under the Zurich Insurance plc (ZIP) legal entity.
