Online tutorial

Although Crimson is a powerful tool, using it is simple and straightforward. To help you become familiar with the system’s various functions and reports you can use our tutorial.

This tutorial is a guide to Crimson, explaining the functions, features and benefits of each section on the site. All you need to do to get started is follow the links below.

Homepage

This page is your first port of call on the Crimson site. It gives you background about the portal, the areas of risk that are covered and provides links to all other sections of the site.

Quickview

This page gives you a daily management report of key information about your Zurich services across all areas of risk. That could include a new report that’s been received in our database, a response to a risk improvement query you’ve made, a reminder that a risk improvement is approaching or has passed its deadline, or simply notification that we’ve arranged a visit to your site/premises.

Information that’s listed will change as and when new reports are issued, planned visits are notified and risk improvements are updated. The latest information will always be displayed at the top of the table and we’ll delete the data from this section after six months.

Reports

To view your reports, you’ll need to select your area of risk using the dropdown menu at the top of the page. After you’ve done this, you should select one of the views in the dropdown section on the right of the page.

You can then refine your search further by choosing the name, location and date for the report – each of these options appears in sequence. Once your search criteria are set, you simply click on the icon in the ‘report’ or ‘previous report’ column.

Risk improvements

You will have discussed risk improvements during or following a survey or visit to your premises. These will generally require some action to be carried out.

You can use this section to view risk improvements for a report on any location that’s been visited by one of our risk specialists.

To view your risk improvements, select your search criteria and then click on the relevant title.

You can also use the section to track the progress of risk improvement measures. We’ll indicate their status using a simple traffic-light system. If you want to raise a query about these items, you can click the ‘raise query/change status’ button on the individual risk improvement page and this will forward your comments to our Zurich representative who will respond to the query.

Data

This section gives you a wide range of data on many different categories of risk. You can download all of the data shown on the website (and more) into Excel.

Simply select the data report you want from the extensive menu of data download reports, fill in a ‘data filter’ screen and Crimson will convert the data into an Excel spreadsheet for you.

If you’d like to refine your search before choosing a download report, you can select an ‘area of risk’ from the dropdown box at the top of the page.

Site administration

If you’re set up as a site administrator or security user, you can use this section of Crimson to manage the following:

  • Manage company profile – Here you can manage the overall settings of the site such as company name, company address, primary contact, etc.
  • Manage communities – Clicking here means you can add, amend and delete communities from your site. Communities allow you to create groups of users who are able to see specific reports and risk improvements that are relevant to them rather than seeing everything on the site.
  • Manage users – This allows you to add, amend and delete users of the system (security users, community owners and community members). When a person is added to the system, they aren’t automatically added to a community – which they must be to have access to reports and or risk improvements.
  • Manage schedules – Allows you to assign schedules (reports and or risk improvements) to particular communities so that they can be viewed by relevant people.
