Disabling cookies

This document provides step-by-step instructions on how to disable cookies in the following browsers:

• Internet Explorer 5
• Internet Explorer 5.5
• Internet Explorer 6
• Netscape 6
• Netscape 7

Step-by-step instructions on how to disable cookies

Internet Explorer 5 and 5.5:

1. Select the Tools menu
2. Select Internet Options in the Tools drop-down menu
3. Select the Security tab on the Internet options window
4. Select the Custom Level button in the Security section
5. Scroll down the Custom Level list until you get to the Cookies section
6. Select the Disable radio button in the "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" section under Cookies
7. Select the Disable radio button in the "Allow per session cookies (not stored)" section under Cookies
8. Press OK on the Custom Level window
9. Press OK on the Internet Options window

Internet Explorer 6:

1. Select the Tools menu
2. Select Internet Options in the Tools drop-down menu
3. Select the Privacy tab on the Internet Options window
4. Click the Advanced button
5. Check the Override automatic cookie handling tick box
6. Select the Block radio button in the First Party Cookies section
7. Select the Block radio button in the Third Party Cookies section
8. Press OK on the Advanced window
9. Press OK on the Internet Options window

Netscape 6:

1. Select the Tasks menu
2. Select the Privacy & Security menu in the Tasks drop-down menu
3. Select the Cookie Manager menu in the Privacy & Security drop-down menu
4. Select Block Cookies from this site from the Cookie Manager drop-down menu
5. An Alert dialogue box will appear informing you that Cookies from this site will always be rejected – press the OK button

Netscape 7:

1. Select the Tools menu
2. Select Cookie Manager from the Tools drop-down menu
3. Select Block Cookies from this site from the Cookie Manager drop-down menu
4. An Alert dialogue box will appear informing you that Cookies from this site will always be rejected – press the OK button.
